"If a woman doesn't look like a goddess when she is giving birth someone isn't treating her right."
Ina May Gaskin
"During my recent, and fairly turbulent pregnancy I often sought her support and guidance (especially when faced with news that I had to have a c-section). And always left our conversations feeling empowered to accept and submit to what my journey had in store!"
"Aquila was exactly the support we needed during the birth of our second child. She gave us the confidence to approach our son's birth not with anxiety but with joy and anticipation. The birth of our son was one of the most empowering and emotional moments in my life and It was the support from my doula that made all the difference. I couldn't imagine having another baby without Aquila by my side."
"Aquila was the strong, caring support I had only dreamed of finding. Both before & after the birth of my son, she nurtured me to believe I could be a great mum, especially after the difficult pregnancy I had had. I can't recommend her highly enough."

Doula for a Day

Getting that special personal support, just for one day. We sweep in and make you feel special.
The package includes:
And a delicious vegetarian meal made for you and of course lots of cups of tea.
This is a perfect gift for friends and family to offer to expectant mothers.
A hand to hold
If you do not wish to have a doula at your birth, but feel that you would benefit from support afterwards, we can also offer you services as a postnatal doula. This is a precious time as you take time to fall in love with your newborn. Many new parents feel overwhelmed and need help with basic practical things, such as washing up and cooking. My backup Katie Potter has specifically also done some training as a breastfeeding peer supporter. Therefore she can help with breastfeeding, and signpost you to good up to date information and professional help if needed.
MEET THE DOULASHIP
The word “doula” is an ancient Greek word meaning ‘woman caregiver’, and in our practice we offer support to women and their partners before, during and after childbirth. Our role is to help facilitate safe, positive and empowering birthing experiences by offering the information, emotional support and physical support needed during this time.
Birthing from a place of trust, knowledge and power is highly important to us. I aim to support families in their journey in love and service.
Teaching pre and postnatal yoga for over six years and then giving birth to my son in 2015 made we want to follow the line of study to become a doula. For my own journey into motherhood I had a doula at my side and the role was integral to my wonderful experience, feeling empowered, nurtured and fully supported in not the most obviously easy situation. Now moving forward with the guidance of Kate Woods at Conscious Birthing I aim to hold the space of women and their families on their own journey. I also run mother blessing ceremonies and a Doula for a Day package. I work in the Dorset, Bridport area, but can travel.
Please get in touch with to talk about working together.
Love and all is coming
I cherish the childbearing year and all the wonderful highs and lows. The doula is there to assist, inform, support and honour the family through this most precious transition. I offer services from prenatal and birth doulaing, and postnatal.
